The First Cabaret
We first presented songs from Regretting Almost Everything, our musical comedy, at Mr. Finn’s Cabaret at Barrington Stage Company in August of 2017. Though some of those songs have been significantly revised, 10 of them are still in the show and on the concept album: Behind the Wheel, Main Line Philly Sex, My Mini4, No, I Don’t (Yes, I Do), Waiting Up, Elle, The Baby Likes Me Best, Blind Date, Fatherhood, and Do It All Again.
When we did the show again at 54 Below in April 2018, we replaced our original opening song about Jello shots and tater tots with Anymore.
In the intervening years, we’ve written new songs, five of which are on the album:
We Made Kids, It’s Normal, Dating, Fight for Me, and How Do You Measure a Marriage?.
(We also wrote a libretto. And three other full-length shows — the one we don’t talk about, In My Book, and Mimosa, as well as some shorter pieces, and god knows how many songs.)
Regretting Almost Everything is a two-person musical about a long marriage. (The person helping us with SEO suggested we mention that).
